The Importance of Good Indoor Air Quality
Indoor air quality starts with the HVAC filter, which collects particles such as dust, pet dander, and other particles before they can enter your HVAC system. The filter protects the coils and vents from this material, as well as the air that is circulated throughout the home.
OUR REVIEWS
Air quality is affected by both the allergens and particulates which contaminate the home from the outdoors, and those pollutants which are already in the home or created in the home. For example, cooking can create grease and other particulates which can cling to walls and ceilings, where they bind with other pollutants. Cooking fumes can be easily controlled by using the ventilation fan.
Another feature of poor air quality is the humidity. The HVAC system is designed to control the humidity of a home by keeping it below 60%. Certain problems and activities and raise it about 60%, which makes the home uncomfortable. Running the air conditioning will help, as well as a dehumidifier if the environment warrants it or if the family is inclined to long hot showers.
Indoor air quality is directly tied to the comfort of a home. When indoor air quality is compromised, family members with allergies can suffer, and those who are uncomfortable in higher humidity will be miserable.
